Most of the houses open up in a hallway. It is a place that gives your guests their first impression of your house. Some things that you need to keep in mind while buying hallway furniture are mentioned below.
- Console
A console is always considered a major part of hallway furniture. It serves a great purpose of giving you some storage around the house and a place to display decoration items, trophies, photo frames, etc.
- Mirrors of walls
A hallway is usually a small path towards the inside. Adding framed mirror(s) on the wall will give it a large size illusion. Also, light shades of white, cream and light pastels also help in making it look more spacious than it already is.
- Gallery on the wall
It is always nice to keep your guests engaged and what better way to do so rather than having a family picture gallery on one side of the wall. Make sure you place the frames in a lovely pattern that attracts the eye and keep uniformity in selecting the frames.
- Shoe cupboard
The best place to keep a shoe cupboard or rack is the hallway. This place is the perfect place as the family members can come and leave and do not have to take their dirty shoes all the way in. They can just put it out here and wear it again as they leave.

Bookshelves are not always ideal for entrance hallways. However, if you have some similar hallways around the house, you can always add a bookshelf on top of the console to encourage reading in your kids.
