Guest bedrooms have been an essential part of pretty much every house. These days we try our best to make our guests feel welcome at our home to let them have their own room. Here are some tips for decorating a guest’s room and making them feel at home:

  1. Welcoming gestures

A double bed in a room, a sofa set, and a study table to go with are pretty warm and welcoming. However, nowadays, there are other ways in which you can welcome your guests. Keep a bowl of dry fruits, some snacks in a mini-fridge or on a shelf for the eyes to catch easily.

  1. Make it look bigger by adding the right colors to the right place

Many people allocate the smallest room of the house to the guest. You can make it look bigger by using light pastels like minty green and light baby pink, blue, or lilac. Painting the ceiling instead of the walls is a great idea too.

  1. Light it up

Small rooms need more light to come in. The more natural the light, the better, but sometimes your windows might not give you the desired illumination. Add a mirror to the wall that can also serve as a dressing area.

  1. Storage

Since your guests will be over for a couple of days, it could be possible they need to put their clothes, shoes, and accessories somewhere. Therefore, a guest room must have a cupboard or storage cabin for them to keep their belongings. Under-the-bed storage is also a good option, but only when the room has very little space.
